Teaching Lessons: Online and In-Person
I am available to teach students who live anywhere in the world via FaceTime,
Zoom or another platform that works best. I am also available for In-Person lessons in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts and for students who
are enrolled at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
My Teaching Philosophy
I enjoy teaching students of all ages, from intermediate to advanced levels. My highest priority is helping students become better musicians who can express themselves with ease, grace, and power at the piano. Focusing on tone, musicality, artistry, technique, and musical understanding, I help students reach levels of playing they never thought possible. Using a layered teaching approach, practice strategies, and efficient drills, I help my students save time and achieve goals quickly. Harmonic understanding, phrasing, analysis, memorization, and comparative listening are a regular part of lessons. Enthusiastic, energetic, kind, patient, creative, strategic, and demanding are some of the words that students use to describe my teaching style.
Group Workshops and Soireés
Working with groups of students online or in-person is productive and motivating. Students give each other feedback, learn new repertoire, and enjoy the camaraderie of others who love playing piano too.
